Never Again

I have decided that I will never again sell a house. I have warned my children that the onus will fall on them cause I just ain't gonna go through this beaurocratic crap again.
My head is going to explode I think. The deal on our town property is suppose to close today. Yesterday we went to the lawyers.. We had to pay $60 to have a very old mortgage discharged, again.....Some how my inlaws lawyer put a wrong date on the document that made it null and void. That happend like maybe 18 years ago forcryingoutloud. OKay so we get over that and all is well...sign all the crap yesterday at the lawyers, hand him our keys, ta ta for now. Oh yeah, The Big Guy had to drop in the tax bill that we got in the mail on Wednesday. Who knew they couldn't just call the town hall and get the info?
So THEN, at 10:15 this morning our real estate agent calls. "Nancy, did you pick up your house key from the office?" "WHAT?" "Did you pick up your house key. The buyers are taking a final walk through this morning and the keys are not here?" "That was suppose to be done yesterday and you HAVE the keys... Call our lawyer" SLAM My head is going to explode. The Big Guy answers the phone... "Your lawyer's office says they don't have the keys." "Look, we handed them over at the end of the day yesterday. " SLAM
The Big Guy is furious.... muttering.. we have to pay them $7500 for incompetence.. We pay them all that money and they lose two freakin' keys....
I say, I think my head is going to explode... He says.. Since you've just cleaned the floors, will you go outside for that so I don't have a mess to clean up... much laughter. We are not doing well with this final tension.
We won't even talk about the bank screwing up a loan statement.. went to the manager yesterday and got that fixed in a hurry.
Does everyone have these problems or are we so inexperienced that we don't know how things should be handled?
I want that phone call that says it's a done deal. The Big Guy wants to see the bank account figures change.
Such simple needs.

Well............just be glad you sold it! We haven't sold our house yet, so we took it off the market, and have our new house up for sale, with a different realtor. Hopefully, it will sell soon, and he's going to move back into the old house, and I'm going to move to an apartment. We can't do anything til the house sells though. Boy, I tell ya, when we screw up, we do it good!!!

:)

Yes, it sold very quickly, just two weeks on the market, but waiting for the closing date has felt impossible

Good luck with all your changes. You must be feeling so frustrated by everything
